Travel by Road
Most guests will arrive from the South via the A9
Take the A9 to Aviemore, then the A95 to Grantown on Spey, Tomintoul is 14 miles from here, take the A939 at Grantown to Tomintoul. ( The roads could be covered with snow in winter months, if this is the case ignore taking the A939 out of Grantown and instead continue on the A95 to Cromdale and continue to Bridge of Avon at Ballindalloch, take the B9008 to Glenlivet,Auchbrecht, Tomnavoulin and Tomintoul)
The scenic route from the South via Perth & Braemar
Take the A9 to Perth and head north on the A93 to Blairgowrie, continue to the Spittal of Glenshee and pass the Devil’s Elbow to Braemar, continue to Crathie and then take the B976 past Gairnshiel Lodge onto the A939. At the junction turn left for Corgarff and Cockbridge and continue on the A939 to Tomintoul. ( The roads could be covered with snow in winter months, if this is the case take the A9 route as above).
From Inverness Airport (Dalcross)
1st Route
Go out of the airport get onto the A96 and head for Nairn, then take the A939 to Dava and continue on this road until Grantown on Spey, turn at the traffic lights for Tomintoul still on the A939.
2nd Route
Go out of the airport get on the A96 and head for Inverness, and then take the A9 heading for Perth but come off the A9 at the Carrbridge turn off and take the A938 to Dulnain Bridge. Turn left at the junction onto the A95 to Grantown on Spey, at the roundabout take the A939 for Tomintoul.

From Aberdeen Airport (Dyce)
1st Route
From the airport head for Kintore and then go on the B994 to Kemnay and then the B993 to Tillyfourie, at this junction turn right and take the A944 to Alford. Drive through Alford and turn right for Bridge of Alford and continue on the A944 to Mossat, turn left here and onto the A97 to Glenkindie, Strathdon, Corgarff and Cockbridge and then the A939 to Tomintoul.
2nd Route
From the airport head north via the A96 to Inverurie then Huntly, just north of Huntly turn left on the A920 to Dufftown, drive straight through Dufftown and follow the B9009 to the junction, take the left fork on the B9008 to Tomintoul.

The nearest railway station is at Aviemore (26 miles). It has a direct route form Kings Cross station in London via Edinburgh. Travel by day and enjoy the beautiful scenery or take the overnight sleeper and arrive refreshed from your journey.
